Coconut!

Charlie was very curious about coconuts, and how to eat them and drink their milk.  So we went to the grocery store, bought one & brought it home.

Charlie loved it!  Kate, not so much.

Emily's first real food!

When Emily was about five months old, we gave her a little cereal with sweet potato.  From her very first bite, our little munchkin has loved her food!

Emily is 5 Months!

Our little Emily is still on the small side, but she carries it well.  She is smiling, laughing, rolling over, has started eating some baby food and just loves being around her big brother and sister!

Mother's Day

I got nicely spoiled for Mother's Day.  Cards & coffee in bed.  The Sunday Review of the NYT brought to me, and breakfast made.

My absolute favorite thing though was Charlie's card.  He thought of what to say himself.  Wrote it himself too.

Look at that beautiful handwriting!  My heart melted at the sentiment.  

  

Doss Mother Son Dance

Doss, Charlie's school, held a mother-son dance.  There was a DJ, snacks, limbo and lots of dancing!  It was a ton of fun.  Charlie loved taking me out on a date. :-)

When the dancing started, Charlie immediately started break-dancing in the middle of a circle.  Our principal loved it.  That's my son.  So much energy.  All the time!

Every time she sits down to eat, her baby gets hungry.

Cinco de Mayo

Kate's school celebrated Cinco de Mayo again with dancers from McCallum High School.  They got to watch the dancers, and then dance with them.  This year they got to wear skirts and hats to dress up as well!

Spring Soccer

Charlie played soccer again this spring.  He was on a team with triplets from his school!  He had a blast and the team seemed to play really well together.  There was a lot of passing!  They are now starting to learn what an assist is.

Lakeside lunch

In the spring when the weather was beautiful, we took Mema out to Lake Travis to have lunch on the lake.  It was such a nice day!

You can tell here how badly the drought has been here in Austin by the dry patches on the lake.

Charlie's Sports-a-rama!

Charlie's school had a day of sports and fun called "sports-a-rama."  When I was in school we called it field day and its basically the same thing.  I volunteered and organized a scooter race.  It was such a fun morning!  The kids got to wear their class tie-dyed shirts.

Paul goes to India!

Paul took another business trip to India this spring. This time I was left alone for 10 days with three munchkins!  Luckily Mema helped a lot.

One night Charlie had a sleep-over at Mema's and Kate and I had a sleep-over and princess movie night in my room.

We also took Mema to San Antonio for the day.  We had lunch on the Riverwalk and took a boat ride.  Fun day!

Easter 2012

Our Easter was nice and relaxing.

The night before we decorated eggs outside on the deck.

That morning, the kids got their Easter baskets in our bedroom and then they combed the house for hidden eggs.

Then we had a nice brunch out with Mema!

Kate's Easter Egg Hunt

Kate's school does an Easter Egg Hunt at a park near her school.  The kids get to look for eggs, eat pizza and play with their friends.  It was a very fun afternoon!

Blanton Field Trip

Charlie's class had a field trip to the Blanton.  Its a wonderful gallery downtown.  Before we went in, his class ate a picnic lunch outside.  After the field-trip I asked him if he was kissing Neve on the cheek.  He told me no no no over and over.  Neve was trying to kiss him.  He was not trying to kiss her.

Well, this is the picture I got.  Some very red cheeks when I showed it to him.

Gracie comes for a visit!

Our beloved Gracie came for a visit in late March/early April.  We had tons of fun with her.

One beautiful day we went to the park and had a picnic.
