We celebrated Easter morning at home with the Grandmas! The kids searched for eggs and opened their Easter baskets. After they finished finding the eggs, they asked us to hide them again because they had so much fun. I think we did it two more times.
Here are some stories of our fun filled days in Austin!

Easter Egg Hunt at Charlie's School
Charlie's class held an Easter Egg hunt at school. Charlie got to bring home 12 eggs filled with candy - which made him very happy!
Grandma Comes for Visit!!
We had Grandma come for a visit for Easter. Charlie was counting down the days before her arrival for two weeks. We spent a really nice week together. We went to San Antonio, went swimming, went to the park, a local gallery, and spent a lot of time outside on our deck enjoying the beautiful weather. And of course, Grandma spent a lot of time reading to the kids, which they really enjoyed!

Every week Grandma sends Charlie a postcard from the National Gallery in London. So it was only fitting that Charlie's first visit to a gallery was with Grandma.
Austin Rodeo
We went with our friends to the Austin Rodeo last month. We had a great time! The kids went on all the rides, played games, and then we stayed and watched the bull-riding. Which neither Paul nor I knew anything about. Now we know that the goal is to stay on for 8 seconds - which apparently, is very difficult. Definitely a new experience for us all!

Bookstore
Kate is starting to really love stories. I took her to the bookstore while Charlie was in school and let her pick out a new book. Of course Ms. Kate went right for the Dora book.
We stayed a bit and she loved playing with the train set.

Charlie turns FIVE
After a lot of waiting, and an endless countdown of days (which included a month of telling people he was "4 and 11/12ths") Charlie turned 5! He was very excited.
We celebrating at home, school and then had a party for all his friends.
We had his party on a Sunday evening at the Austin Children's Museum, which was so much fun! We had the whole museum to ourselves, and had pizza and cake as well. Charlie was so looking forward to it and had a great time. His one request was a dinosaur cake with a dinosaur that moved. Since I know the limits of my baking, and the fact that moving dinosaurs are out of my league, searching bakeries we went. Thanks to our good friend, who also had a dinosaur cake with a moving dinosaur, we were able to track one down.
