Dentist

I took both kids to the dentist for a check-up.  They were so good.  It was just too cute seeing them sitting in their chairs so I took some pictures.

Six Flags

Over spring break, Mema, Uncle Keith and I took the kids to Six Flags (a huge amusement park) in San Antonio.  Paul was supposed to be traveling that day so he could not come.  Boo hoo.  He was missed.

We learned that Charlie is a daredevil and does not have any motion sickness.  Lucky for him Uncle Keith was there to take him on all the rides.  I went on the one roller coaster with Charlie that he was tall enough to go on.  He sat with Keith.  I thought it would be a kiddie roller coaster.  Umm, no.  It was a real roller coaster, and scared me a bit.  When we got off I though maybe Charlie would scared.  The first thing he said was "Can we go again!?!"  Then I asked him if he was scared at all.  He looked at me like I had 10 heads and said "why would I be scared?"  Kate loved the kiddie rides, and the little roller coaster.  She loved going on the zebra on the carousel too.

Uncle Keith & Aunt Merry visit

We had some visitors in March right before Charlie's birthday.  Merry and Keith came, which was so great.  Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of Merry.  Lol.  Probably because she was only here for two days.

Keith was here for "fun Friday" so we went to the park by my Mom's house which has an awesome playground and a soccer field with nets.  Since Keith used to play soccer, it was a lot of fun for Charlie (and Keith too I think).

San Antonio Zoo

For fun friday several weeks ago, we went to the San Antonio zoo with some friends.  We rode the train and got to see a lot of animals.  The kids' favorite was the elephant.  But they also saw tigers, monkeys, a lion, fish, hippos, and lots of other animals as well.  Since it was Tripp's birthday that weekend, we also had cupcakes and sang at the zoo.

Everybody checking out the bear

Kate and Tate loved the elephants

I am a Marathoner!

At the end of February, I ran the Austin marathon.  After training for several months in 20-50 degree weather early in the morning, race day was 75 degrees with 90% humidity.  It was difficult to say the least. Especially with the very, very hilly course.  But my friend Kristin and I finished, and felt great up until mile 22.  The last four miles were very hard, and I was chanting "I am never running again, ever ever" as we crossed the finish line.  6 weeks later I still have black toes as a souvenir.

Paul and the kids made signs and met us at mile 18, and then at the finish line.  They were going to meet up with us at mile 15, but Kris and I were doing so well we were past there before they got there.

Holding up signs cheering for people.  They both had t-shirts made by Kristin that said "My mommy ran a marathon" and "26.2"

Here we come!  This was about mile 18.  We still felt really good here.  This was before the sun came out. :-)

Crossing the finish line.  Oh so happy!

Park Day

Charlie started playing T-Ball on a team, so we took the kids to the park to practice.  Although Charlie really wanted to bring his soccer ball and play soccer with his Dad.  So, we took both and made an afternoon of it.  Since Paul has absolutely no idea how to play baseball (but is learning quickly), I had to help Charlie with his stance.  My old softball skills came back!

Ms. Kate LOVES the swing.  The higher the better.

This was back in February, and was the first night it was nice enough to eat outside.  Our very favorite thing to do.

Austin Snow Day

Yes, this is a couple of months old.  But I am going to try to get caught up.

We had a rare snow day here in Austin.  Paul stayed home from work - we could not even get out of our driveway - kids stayed home from school.

Charlie had a blast playing in the snow.  Kate wanted no part of it.  She was very concerned for the squirrels in the snow and thought we should let them in the house.

What is better than hot chocolate with marshmallows after playing in the snow?
