Charlie Field Trip Blanton

Charlie had a wonderful field trip to the Blanton museum and was introduced to various pieces of art.

However, the highlight of the trip was when I caught him trying to steal a kiss from his friend Neve!

Charlie's Party

For Charlie's 6th birthday we had a soccer party!  We had it at a playground and invited his friends and had a soccer/basketball theme.  Charlie played soccer from when we started setting up at 8:30 until we left the park around 1pm.  Non-stop - except to stop for cake.  We had a great time and the weather was beautiful.

He's got skills!  He now wants to try to head a goal.

 The incredible cake...

Waiting to blow out the candles.

Family shot.

Charlie's piece.  Daddy was so proud.

Charlie Turns 6!

Our little boy turned 6 years old!  He got to pick his dinner for his birthday, and I made macaroni and cheese and fried shrimp.  It was yummy!

For his birthday we got him a playscape for the yard.  However, as we are still contemplating what to do with our backyard and whether or not we want to put a pool in, it is June and he is still waiting. Oh well.

Uncle Keith sent Charlie $20 in a card.  He was very pleased!

Emily Three Month Outtakes

Taking Emily's picture is not that easy...

Emily is Three Months!

Emily is smiling all the time now.  She is cooing too, and loves to smile and coo at you like she is having a conversation with you.  She also now loves her mobile and laying on her playmat staring up at her toys.  Her brother and sister just love to snuggle on her and make her smile.  Emily tolerates her tummy time, and has even managed to roll over from her belly to her back a few times.

She still has to sleep on an incline for her reflux, so she is not yet sleeping in her crib, but we put her in it (with the mattress raised) so she can enjoy her mobile.

There's that cheeky grin!

Pretty in pink.

Charlie and Kate always bring her things. In her crib here is a picture Charlie drew for her and a toy Kate gave her.

Spring Break Road Trip

Ever since we bought our minivan, Paul has been itching to take a roadtrip.  We figured it would be easier while Emily is immobile, so we decided to pile in and drive to Destin, Florida.  What should have taken about 12 hours took us 2 full days.

On the way there we stopped in New Orleans and showed the kids the city we met in!  We walked along the river and Bourbon street...which looked a lot different on a Sunday morning with three kids then when we remembered. :-)

Destin was beautiful.  The whitest sand on the beach.  We had gorgeous weather.  We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo/hotel unit right by our resort's 'town' with restaurants, bars, and a ton of activities for the kids.  It was a very relaxing fun vacation.

Charlie loved boogie boarding!

Kate loved dragging hers around, but was afraid to go in the ocean.

Emily's first time on the beach!  She didn't even have to wait three months.

Inevitably, we had to bury Charlie.

He didn't mind so much.

They built sandcastles.

Kate enjoyed napping on the beach.

Three beautiful kids all dressed for dinner.

Being silly.

Being sweet.

Charlie and Kate went on the trampolines.

Yay for ice-cream!

Charlie also did the zipline.  He had absolutely no fear.  It was a great Spring Break!

Emily is 10 weeks old!

Emily is now 10 weeks.  She is smiling a lot more now.  She is our first pacifier baby, and just loves her binky.  She has started reflux medication for a bad case of infant reflux.  It makes her very uncomfortable at times, but the medicine seems to be making her a lot better.  Her eyes are turning very blue and I have a feeling somehow Paul and I are going to have three blue-eyed children together!

Charlie's Valentine's Day Party

Charlie's class had a Valentine's Day party.  We decorated the classroom for them when they were at recess and when they came back they got to pass out their Valentine's to their friends, decorate a cookie, and listen to a Valentine's Day story.  It was a lot of fun!  He came home with a big bag of goodies from all his friends!

Hard at work on his cookie.  There is Emily sleeping in her stroller in the background again.

Valentine's Day Cards

Charlie and Kate had a lot of fun making Valentine's Day cards for their friends.  This year Charlie was able to write all his own cards out!

Charlie Plays Basketball

Over the winter Charlie played basketball on a YMCA team.  He really loved it.  His coach was great and he had so much fun.  Dribbling was a lost concept on the kids, but they were very cute to watch.   Charlie scored a lot of baskets throughout the season and loved running around the court.

 He shoots.  He scores!

Breakast with Ms. Sheryl!

At Kate's school silent auction at our Thanksgiving Feast, one of the items was breakfast with Ms. Sheryl her very favorite teacher.  Kate won the breakfast.  She got to have breakfast with Ms. Sheryl and the other teachers.  They had yogurt, fruit, doughnuts and juice.  Kate was so very excited!

 Kate and Ms. Sheryl.

Brick Oven Field Trip

Kate's class had a field trip to Brick Oven Pizzeria.  The kids got to go in the kitchen and help make the pizzas.  Then they sat with their class and practiced their "restaurant manners" and ate lunch.  Ms. Tracy also read them stories about pizza!  The kids had a blast.  Lucky for me, Emily slept through the whole thing.

Science Fair

Charlie's school held their annual science fair.  Since Charlie is only in Kindergarten, his job was to simply make a robot - the only rules were he had to be able to carry it himself from his classroom to the cafeteria and he had to make it himself.  Daddy supervised, but Charlie decided to make his robot out of legos and make it completely by himself.

Emily's 1 Month Old!

Our little Emily is 1 month old!  She is still very tiny and finally back to her birth weight of 6'3.  She is doing a lot of eating and sleeping and not much else.  She is our sweetheart though.  Kate is very much enjoying mothering her, and Charlie loves being the big boy with two little sisters.  In fact, Kate said to me "Mommy, thank you so much for bringing my baby home from the hospital, but I am going to be her baby now."

I am so tiny, I don't fit in my bouncy seat.  My head is where my waist should be....
