Charlie's First Soccer Game!

We signed Charlie up for his first soccer team this fall.  Well, a couple of weeks before the season was to begin we got a telephone call that they could not find a coach and if somebody did not step up they were going to disband the team.  We called our friends the Rileys, whose son Tripp is also on Charlie's team.  With both husbands traveling relentlessly, we figured the only way we could do it was if the Dads would co-coach and Elizabeth and I manage the team.  So far so good!

This morning Paul and Wes got up and took a full day training coarse to learn how to coach the boys.  Dare I say, but I think Paul is now getting very excited about the whole coaching job. Even though he asked me as he left the house at 9 am this Sunday morning "what on earth did you sign me up for?", he came home at the end of the day excited and happy, with pages of notes.  Love my husband so much.  He works so hard and still has made it a point to make time to do this for Charlie.  He is the best!

Charlie had his first game this past Saturday.  With no practices, because our first one was rained out by the monsoon we had, the boys took to the field.  Paul and Wes coached brilliantly.  The boys had a fabulous time.  They play 3 v. 3, no goalie.  Pretty much its every man for themselves, in that I did not see on pass the entire game. :-)
